Naomi and Ashley are getting married again—this time in California.
The Washington Free Beacon reports:
“WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia (AP) — The bride, Ashley Biden, was born and raised in Washington, D.C. Her parents have served in the Virginia House of Delegates and the U.S. Senate. The bride’s grandfather is former U.S. Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering.
The groom, Naomi Biden, was born and raised in Williamsburg, Virginia. Her parents are Robert and Carol Biden. Carolyn Kennedy was a top advisor to President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton.
The news of the upcoming nuptials broke while Ashley was participating in a tour of France. The marriage would have most likely taken place shortly before Ashley took a trip to France.
“I’m going to be a very public witness to the beginning of a relationship between women,” Ashley Biden said about her upcoming nuptials.
“It’s a huge honor to do this with my mother in law and my brother’s daughter,” she told reporters during a visit to the Vatican in July.
The White House has not yet announced any other events related to the wedding.
This wedding would not be a surprise for many people outside of Virginia. The Biden family have an extensive history of marrying sisters—Naomi’s father, Robert B. Biden Jr., married Naomi’s younger sister, Ashley, in 1991. Naomi was just 10-years-old at the time. She’s now 36-years-old.
Naomi and her sister, Ashley Biden, were also part of another unusual family event, the death of a grandmother. The story of that death was widely publicized:
Naomi and her sister, Ashley Biden, were in the audience at the funeral of their mother, the late Barbara McCain.
Their father, Robert B. Biden Jr., attended the funeral alongside a close friend. He was also the chairman of the McCain family foundation, according to the Washington, D
